Who Pays for Court-Ordered Rehab or Therapy?
Cost questions can hold up care. They are also rarely answered by one simple rule, especially when court-related requirements, insurance, and clinical recommendations all meet in the same situation.
Short answer
Payment may depend on the provider, insurance benefits, self-pay options, the type of care, court or program requirements, and whether the service is treatment, therapy, education, testing, or evaluation. Do not assume the court, insurance company, or provider will automatically pay.
Before scheduling, ask what service is required, whether Brave Path is clinically appropriate, what insurance may cover, and what documentation can be provided.
Questions to ask before you commit
Ask whether the service is treatment, therapy, evaluation, education, or testing. Ask whether insurance is accepted, what out-of-pocket costs may apply, whether a prior authorization is needed, and what happens if a different level of care is recommended.

Insurance and clinical fit
