The cost of rehab depends on the setting, services, and payment arrangements. Before enrolling, ask for an explanation of charges that separates the program itself from services billed by other providers. Find out whether assessments, medication appointments, testing, or outside referrals could result in separate bills. A quoted amount is only useful when you know what it covers. If you plan to use insurance
Call the member services number on your card and ask about the specific provider and service. Confirm network status, any authorization requirements, and your remaining deductible or other cost sharing. Record the date and reference number of the call. Benefits information does not by itself confirm that every proposed service will be paid.
If you are paying directly
Ask for a written estimate, the billing schedule, and the policy for missed appointments or changes in your care plan. Clarify whom to contact if a bill differs from what you expected. Do not assume that a court requirement or referral determines who pays.
